Eco homes
In conjunction with Accord Housing Association and the Matrix Housing Partnership, Redditch Co-operative Homes has used new methods of construction to deliver three high-quality schemes at the same cost as traditional construction. The homes are timber framed with timber cladding and were manufactured off-site.
The first development achieved the EcoHomes grading ‘Excellent’ and was the first scheme in the country to achieve the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
The developments feature:
- Solar panels
- Timber frame and cladding from a sustainable source
- Minimal site waste due to offsite manufacture
- High levels of insulation and airtightness
- Whole house ventilation
- Heat recovery
- PV solar panels
- 55 per cent fewer emissions than a traditionally built house
- Potentially 66 per cent energy cost savings when compared to a traditionally built house.
