Our work
Redditch Co-operative Homes (RCH) is a partnership between Redditch Borough Council, five neighbourhood co-operatives and Accord Housing Association to provide high quality, affordable and accountable social housing in Redditch. We provide a comprehensive housing management and maintenance service to neighbourhood co-operatives within the town.
Each one of our partners contributes something valuable and unique, enabling RCH to grow as a flexible, local and innovative partner, addressing the town’s housing shortage. We are particularly proud to be Redditch Borough Council’s sole preferred partner for developing new affordable housing on council-owned land. This partnership continues to benefit the town with additional affordable housing.
RCH has a strong attachment to the co-operative principles and values which underpin all of our work. We have successfully developed five neighbourhood co-operatives and over 200 properties, keeping principles of self-help and accountability at the top of our agenda.
We have worked with Redditch Borough Council to promote environmental responsibility and achieve sustainable housing solutions. The properties we have developed are of an excellent energy efficiency standard, with a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP, the standard measure of the energy efficiency level of a property) rating of 85.6, which compares to an average in the mid-50s for the town as a whole.
We are firmly committed to the localisation agenda and to delegating real power to communities.
